Arcadia offers guests and owners well planned excursions for the whole family. Our excursion packages can accommodate your group of all ages when you book ahead.

We will pack a lunch, provide plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, transportation from Arcadia to the parks and include guided hiking experiences.

With Snow Canyon only a few miles up the road from our resort, we take full advantage of this state park’s beauty and magnificence. Its red and white sandstone cliffs are a sight we love and we know you will love it too. There are more than 38 miles of hiking trails to enjoy, from cinder cones and scenic lava flow to petrified sand dunes and more. Rock climbing, road biking, camping, and enjoying the sand dunes are among the activities that the park provides for its visitors. Snow Canyon is a place you won’t want to miss.

Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon Desert Reserve. Majestic rocks are home to the desert tortoise, a federally protected animal. Activities like hiking, nature studies, camping and lots of wild life viewing makes this excursion one of our favorites.

Snow Canyon Trails

Whether you are an experienced rider or a first timer you will have the adventure of a lifetime viewing the rising Red and White Navajo Sandstone cliffs that are layered with black lava flows. The unique advantage of being on horseback with one of our professional guides will allow you to take in many of the colorful desert plants and the opportunity to view the elusive wildlife that roam the park which includes desert tortoises, quail, roadrunners, kit foxes, coyotes, as well as the peregrine falcons flying above it all.

Sand Hollow Reservoir

One of Utah’s newest state parks is a popular destination for travelers. Sand Hollow has some of Southern Utah’s hottest sand dunes. Boats and ATV’s are available at the TIKI HUT for rental!

Kanarraville Falls

It is a local favorite and a favorite destination for adventure seekers. You hike through rivers, you climb ladders and you play in water falls! Be prepared to get WET. Beautiful red rocks and spectacular views of the red rock mountains surround the area. This is a great place to get out of the St. George heat in the summertime.

Sprawling Reserve in Southern Utah is known for its crimson colored hoodoos which are spiral shape rock formations. The spectacular Bryce Canyon is nature at its best, and a must see for all visitors in Southern Utah.

This is a superb hot spot for photographers and hikers. This must-see attraction will take you through the slot canyons formed by flash flooding. There are two parts to this beautiful place. So, plan on multiple days filled with amazing views.

Climbing

Snow Canyon Rock Climbing

Snow Canyon has six distinct climbing areas. Snow Canyon’s Johnson Canyon has two routes that can be climbed. The Highlander is the single pitch and ascends into the end point of Johnson canyon. The Trouble No. More is a two-pitch route and is located directly across from the Johnson Canyon arch. Island in the Sky is the most popular climbing area in Snow Canyon. The Red Navajo sandstone is capped with black lava rock, making it an adventure to climb and explore. 7,000 acres of climbing will keep you busy for days as you challenge yourself. If you decide to camp overnight, there are campsites near by.

St. George Bouldering and Crack Climbing

There are multiple areas in Southern Utah to go bouldering. Moe’s Valley and Super Mario Land are two of our most popular locations here in the St. George area. If you want to escape the heat, you can head up to Browse on North I15 to the undocumented areas and find some great boulders in a much cooler region. You can also head to the Moab area and experience Indian Creek in the northern part of the Bear's Ears National Monument for more Crack Climbing.

The Snow Canyon Trail loop is a paved trail that is perfect for biking and walking. This trail is great for all ages and takes you around the park to witness the white rocks that make Snow Canyon so special. The entire loop is 18 miles and has a vertical climb of 1050 vertical feet.

Mountain Biking Near St. George

St. George and Santa Clara offer more than 25 amazing trails of varying difficulty levels for single track mountain biking. Closest to the Resort is Snow Canyon and the popular Barrel Roll trail in Santa Clara. St. George and Hurricane have trails like the Bearclay Poppy, the Mesa Rim and the City Creek Trail. Arcadia Resort can assist in giving you directions to trail heads and difficulty levels. Make sure you have proper gear, lots of water and sunscreen before going out on your mountain bike adventure!

Biking in Zion National Park

The Pa’rus trail is the only trail approved in Zions Canyon. The trail is great for the whole family. Cycling is available on the main roads, but with heavy traffic you may decide to ride a mountain bike and stay on the trails. You can rent bikes at the park if you don’t have a bike.
